Small but Great improvment

Dear Friends,

Just a quick update:

bottom line - Deb is back to where she was a day or two before we took her to the hospital. Last night (July 4th) she got up on her own a couple of times - she does that by not standing erect, staying a bit stooped and either putting her hands on her upper thighs or holding onto something else to take the weight off her spine. I am actually able to leave her for a while and her mom is coming to stay with her this morning and afternoon.

Duane

Dear friends, We prayed for you both at Wilbarger St. in Vernon yesterday. Please know how much you are loved here, and that we are deeply concerned. Thanks for the blogspot so that we can stay informed and know what to specifically pray for. So far we have prayed for complete healing. Let us know if there is anything else we can do here. Love, Derrel and Kay Wall

Thanks, Tracy and Marcos, for setting up this blog spot to keep us informed! Adam & Luke both "blog," so we knew a little bit about it from them. Tell Deb I sure wish I was close enough to run a meal by -- like in the good ole Fortaleza days when we were all having our babies! Sorry there isn't something we can do to help out. Of course we know that we can pray, and we're certainly doing that.
Love you all,
Roger & Teddy

Wanted you both to know you are in our thoughts and prayers every day. I'm praying for total and complete healing and for God to be glorified in the process. I've loved getting the updates. You two are so loved; not just here at RHCC. We were in Vernon yesterday and they are lifting your name up to Our Great Physician too. Love, Starlyn Barrow & Family

Dear Debbie,
You have cared so much for my family somehow surviving intact.
Now I am so belligerent, so angry at that God of yours for having allowed such pain and trauma and threat to fall on one of the best in His camp. I've prayed that He wise up and take your cross somewhere else, for apparently another someone must always be made or allowed to suffer from one the multitude of this species we call cancers.
If that be the case, then let the suffering fall on someone more deserving of that experience. And we all know someone of that caliber. But then this extremely intimate associate of mine is such a coward; he probably would not fight.
Duane and I agreed that I'd better call my wife into action for this prayer barrage if we were going to have some real firepower.
Well, you should already know that she's got that long Rocky prayer request line yanking on your God's chain.
Not that it matters much to God, apparently, but I'm also praying as often as my pea-sized neuron tissue cluster reminds me that one fine human being, one all-Christian, one fine-looking woman, one ever hopeful friend and one-half of Duane needs all the reinforcements she can muster to crush this lifeform that feeds on our lifeblood.
That, it turns out, is very often.
Your advocate from the outside,
Worth Wren Jr.

Life is hard...but God is so good. You and your family are so precious to us and we go through our days with you on our minds, in our hearts and in our prayers. Thank you for loving our Emily like she is your own and allowing her to minister to you. She just loves you all so much! We are always thankful when God gives our children chances to be servants, even when the circumstances aren't what we would like them to be. God blessed her with a servant heart from the beginning - what better gift could we ask for our children! We know that the Lord is in control and that better days are ahead. Roy & Mindy

Dear Duane & Debbie,
You are so close in thought and prayer. I know from my own experience that you are in a battle but you are never alone. Rich and I are praying that you will feel peace from the Lord as He shines through you both during this time. Please do not hesitate to call if I can sit with Deb and give you a break or run errands or anything. I would be honored to help. Until then, please know that you are close in prayer and thought.
In HIM, Karen & Rich

Just got the word about what you are going through. You will be in our thoughts and prayers personally and our church, Richardson East will also be lifting you up.
Much love,

Duane and Debbie,
I am so sorry my summer has kept me so busy that I have seemed not to be present. I have, however been station at the Throne much of the time. I think of you both so ofetn, always lifting you up when I do. Please know that you are loved, that your presence is missed and that you we stand ready to help in any way. Patty and Wade Weaver

Dear Duane and Debbie,
Dad called today and passed on your blog address; Mom and Dad are so very concerned about you, and of course, our entire family loves all of you. Your situation is beyond difficult, and I am so sorry that you are suffering. I trust in God's faithfulness with all my heart, and I know that He loves you with His steadfast love. One of the verses I have clung to this past year is from Isaiah 40:11: "He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart . . ." May you feel the arms of the Good Shepherd as He carries you close to His heart.
We love you.
Jana (Wall) Anderson and Family
